Florida Personhood Tour

March 9-18, 2010

This Tour was blessed of the Lord! We put out thousands upon thousands pieces of literature, had countless conversations with people, and displayed the photographs of the preborn (both those in the womb and those killed by abortion) to literally hundreds of thousands of people.

There was much media produced from this Tour also. Nearly every city we stopped at had news media stories about our efforts, thus taking our efforts beyond the street corners we stood at and into people's homes. Many news stations did live reports from out on the streets where we stood!

About 50 people traveled with the Tour with others joining in for a stop or for the day. The group worked tirelessly to get word out about the petition drive on behalf of the preborn in Florida. The Tour was conducted with a two-pronged objective - 1. to get word out about the petition drive for an amendment to the State constitution which recognizes the humanity of the preborn child from the moment of conception, and 2. to make a few stops where college students gather for Spring Break.

The following is a pictorial report which gives a brief summary of some of what took place along the Tour.

The view of one of our set-ups along the street from the TruthTruck.

BRANDING

One of the ways people are impacted by a message is through "branding." Branding is when you use the same color and images on various media so that people associate your message with that coloring and image. On this Tour, we took "branding" to the street level by using the same color and image on 1. our literature, 2. our TruthTruck, and, 3. our big signs out on the street.

This postcard was put out with a copy of the petition to thousands of people.

People also received this Gospel tract with their petition.

These big signs were strategically placed at the intersections along our set-ups on the street.

We also had the same color and imaging on the back of our TruthTruck.

People saw our Truthtrucks, saw our big signs on the streets, and received our literature _ all with the same color and imaging _ thus reminding them in multiple ways of the preborn!

MEDIA

The Tour produced huge amounts of news media attention in almost every city to which we traveled.

PREACHING

We preach over truthhorns along the Tour. We declare the truth of God's Word and speak up for our preborn neighbor.

LITERATURE DISTRIBUTION

Getting literature into people's hands is an extremely important part of our efforts. When the cars are stopped at the red lights, we walk the streets next to the cars and pass it out.

TRUTHTRUCK

Our TruthTruck traveled on the whole Tour. The truck rides around the area while we stand on the streets. The truck causes no small stir!

The TruthTruck provides an element to our efforts which enhances our message. The truck gives people the further impression that _ we are everywhere!

The TruthTruck can be seen for a long ways while in traffic.

COLLATING LITERATURE

We spent a lot of time on this Tour collating literature. We were not just passing out one piece of literature this time _ but three! So we had to collate it and paperclip it for the lit-droppers.

At one stop we realized the lit had gone out so well at the stop before that we had to make more. The KIDS came through and did it right on the sidewalk while we were set-up getting it into the hands of the lit-droppers so that we didn't miss a beat!

Yep, we were seen in more than one fastfood place collating lit.

PETITIONS

People signed our petitions right out on the streets. Most took them and Personhood Florida reports they are coming in through the mail! If you live in Florida, contact Personhood Florida!

Even while sitting in a Dunkin' Donuts, people with our group were gathering signatures for the petitions!

PARTICIPANTS

More than 50 people traveled with the Tour. This was guerrilla warfare at its best. A small group of people committed to a holy cause _ causing no small stir!

Those who participated were of an upright and joyful nature.

PRO-ABORTS

We encountered pro-aborts at a few stops along the way. In Ft. Lauderdale, we stood at a busy intersection just down the street from Dr. Kennedy's Coral Ridge Church. An abortion clinic is near the corner. The pro-aborts had their largest showing there along the Tour.

Our people raise up their signs when pro-aborts try to block people's view from the truth.

VARIOUS PICTURES AND THOUGHTS

There was some time for leisure and fun along the way.

Did we mention we had to collate lit along the Tour?

We started early on several mornings for the morning rush hours. The lit went out best at a morning stop in Hialeah _ nearly 90% took it!

Ron Brock traveled the whole Tour with us. Here he is stopped in North Miami. The police squads kept him stopped in traffic for 20 minutes while _ believe it or not _ the Secret Service was contacted for possible terrorism charges! Cal jumped in the truck to stand with Ron.

Keith, a young man from Barbados, who learned about the Tour on Facebook, spent the first week with us on the Tour.

Sam and Sharon Schrock, an elderly couple, traveled most of the Tour and demonstrated how the elderly can impact the young at the various Spring Break sites.

Bob Braun. 73 years old, shows that ones later years can be used for things other than bingo and golf. He faithfully watched the trailer for us and encountered many conversations and confrontations while there.
